Alaska Map

The Alaska map is divided into 5 major regions. You have:

1. Far North
2. Interior
3. Southcentral
4. Southwest
5. Inside Passage

Each major region has a broad range of communities.

The Far North has towns and cities such as Prudhoe Bay, Barrow, Nome and Kotzebue.

The Interior has towns and cities such as Chena Hot Springs, Galena, Tok, Fairbanks, Fort Yukon and North Pole.

The Southcentral region has towns and cities such as Kasilof, Seward, Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, Talkeetna, Wasilla, Eagle River and Anchorage.

The Southwest region has towns and cities such as Kodiak, Dutch Harbor, King Salmon, Bethel and Dillingham.

The Inside Passage has towns and cities such as Haines, Juneau, Sitka, Wrangell, Ketchikan and Skagway.

While looking at a map of Alaska you will notice that Alaska is a VERY large state. Most people make the mistake of trying to see the whole state in a short period of time. Now if you are limited on time you should start with a list of the things you would like to see and do while you are in Alaska, then based on your desires you should look at the different regions on the map and select one region that will meet your needs.

Southcentral Alaska is a region that most people select. It offers road access to all locations. There is fishing, hiking, glacier cruises, bear and wildlife viewing, site seeing, historical locations, plenty of scenic views and plenty of locations to relax and enjoy your Alaska vacation.
